Buying a New Car? Why Not Bundle A European Holiday

Did you know that there are holiday packages that bundle airfares, accommodation and cosmetic surgery? It’s a sort of incentive program for women (and some men) to have their surgery done overseas and is especially popular in Britain and Australia. Well, as some of you may already know, there are similar programs for people who want to buy a new car.
These so-called, “European Delivery Programs” are offered by companies as diverse as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volvo. Effectively you’re bundling a discount European vacation with your new car purchase.
You fly to Europe, spend a few nights in a hotel with your mistress family and pick up your car from the dealer or factory there. You save a bit of money on MSRP (no doubt offset by all the souvenirs and what-have-you), enjoy a European holiday and simply drop your car off at the dock when you’re done.
There’s no negotiating or destination fees and turnaround averages four months, with two months to build your car in Europe and another two to ship it back stateside. Many automakers thrown in perks like complimentary meals, free airfares and complimentary stays, insurance and all the rest.
The price can be as little as US$1,500 (€1,050), plus the US$30,000 (€21,000) or so you’ll pay for your entry level BMW or Audi.
But as the luxobarge manufactures are keen to remind us, it’s not about the car...it’s about the experience.

Having FUn with 2010 Volkswagen Routan

All new in 2009, the Volkswagen Routan minivan has no powertrain changes for 2010. The Routan is a restyled version of the Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country, and shares their Chrysler-designed V6 engines.

Having recently exited bankruptcy and fallen under the control of the Fiat Group, Chrysler's long term product plans aren't quite clear yet. However, with their minivans still playing an important role in the market, Chrysler's long term commitment to this line seems assured. With that in mind, Volkswagen will probably remain a willing partner, perhaps choosing to add a diesel offering at some point down the line.

Due to rising gas prices and environmental concerns, hybrid vehicles are becoming more popular than ever. Most car manufacturers have a hybrid vehicle in their lineup and Infiniti is following suit with one of their own; the 2011 M35h. What sets this vehicle apart from the pack is it's substantial power, good looks and capacity to reach top speeds. The M35h will be available for sale in the U.S in the spring of 2011. It has been aptly dubbed as "The Driver's Hybrid". The M35h makes its grand public debut at the 2010 Paris Auto Show.

Exterior Design 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302

Starting with the 1969 model year the Ford brought the road racing Mustang program in house by creating the Boss 302 with styling by Larry Shinoda, suspension was design by Kar Kraft. Engineer Matt Donner was the man responsible for the excellent Boss 302 chassis, which quickly impressed the critics with the way it hugged the road. The engine was a Ford 5.0L block with the new 351 Cleveland heads. The car was originally to be called the Trans Am, until Ford found out GM had already licensed the name from the SCCA.

Advancement for the Mustang in 1969 also came in the form of living up to the company vision of "models for specific segments of the market". In doing so, the 1969 Mustang for sale offered the widest choice of models and powertrains not only among Mustangs but also among all muscle cars. Perhaps at the time no one except visionaries within the Ford fully appreciated what that would mean. In retrospect, it is clear that building the Mustang presence throughout the automotive market helped establish it as the de facto sports car of choice in the U.S.

The Boss 429 was also built in response to Chrysler's 426 Hemi and it's success in Nascar. Ford built a 427 Hemi-headed single overhead cam motor first, but it wasn't considered stock enough for the series so along came the "semi-Hemi" head 429. Kar Kraft was given the task of wedging a 429 into the Mustang. Quarter-mile times were reported to be in the lower 14s. Although another of the hot rod magazines, Car Craft, slightly modified the stock 429 and got a 1/4 mile in the mid 12s. The street cars came from the factory with a conservative cam and a somewhat small carburetor.

Under the hood, Ford started with the 200- and 250-cubic-inch V6 motors that generate 115 and 155 horsepower, respectively. The base V8 option was a 302-cubic-inch motor that produces 220 horsepower. The big-block 390 hammers out 320, down five horsepower from the version that Ford included in the 1968 model. The top option was once again the Cobra Jet 428 that Ford conservatively rated at 335 horsepower with or without the optional ram-air induction.

However, all the models come with either in 1.3 liter diesel engine or 1.4 liter petrol engine. The 2009 Linea comes with a unique board styling, steering design, well furnished designed and quality of the buttons as well as switches, and comfortable seats. In the exterior design part the rear lamps, twin barrel headlights and the front grill may definitely roll the eyeball of the buyer.

Following France surrendered to the Germans in 1940, Louis Renault was asked to manufacture tanks for Nazi Germany which had taken control of his factories. He refused to do this and he ended up producing trucks for them. After the war, he was accused by the government of being a collaborator and arrested. He died in jail in 1944 and the government seized the factories and his assets. Following the nationalization of Renault, the company experienced unprecedented growth and the rear engine 4CV model was able to rival the popular Volkswagen Beetle and Morris Minor. Renault Fregate, produced from 1951 to 1960, was also successful. However, the company did not perform optimally because of constant labor unrest.

Ford Flex

Last but not least came the "not-minivan" from Ford. The exterior is rather plain with a different color roof that screams Mini-Cooper and a shape comparable to the Scion Xb. The interior is what makes the Flex so unique. Ford decided a refrigerator was in order for the new Flex along with 2nd row roof rests and a massive sunroof. The ambient lighting on the inside can also be programed to fit the occasion. Another interesting fact is the 2009 Flex will be the first production vehicle to use the capless fuel filling system. Not only does it reduce emossions but it will also keep you driving away with your gas cap off and fuel door open.

Toyota Camry.....?

Not the first car you think of when it comes to extreme modification, but obviously it works. The Front Doors gained a few inches and the rear doors were molded into the body. The handles and mirros were shaved to make a sleeker look. The graphics were done by OG Abel and the colors came from Kolor Kings in California. The interior is custom made fiberglass and hand-stitched seats all topped off with a sound system from Pioneer Audio.

Mercedes R500

Extreme Audio is the name of this game. Alpine’s Advanced Application R&D team is unbeatable when it comes to innovation and installation of the newest audio goodies. This year they chose the R500 to show-off their latest Signal Processing Technology. The R500 was also an accomplishment for the engineers who installed everything. The doors were turned to suicide and attached to the front seats. Even more amazing is the front seats swivel to make entering and exiting the vehicle easier. Resting in the Truck is a motorized rack holding 6 of Alpines PDX amplifiers that rotates out for display purposes.

1988 Caprice

An '88 Caprice on 30 inch Asanti wheels, enough said. All of the suspension components are either chromed of painted to match the House of Kolor Violet Kandy body coat. The interior is made of white leather and purple suede. Under The Hood is a 400 cubic inch small block fitted with a Wieland Supercharger and fed by a pair of Holly Dominators.

Mercedes SL 600

This new Mercedes is extreme in a whole new way. It was extremely time consuming to build. Even though SEMA wasn't the first time the public saw this SL 600, it still got a ton of attention. How could you miss is with over 300,00 Swarovski crystals covering the exterior. Even the interior got some crystal Accent. At least you will never lose your car at night anymore.

Pontiac Solstice SD-290

Ah the forgotten days of racing. This concept from Pontiac looks like a modern version of the 1930's style race cars and it's built like one too. It comes from the factory with a 4 point racing harness, no Whindshield and a built in roll bar. Don't plan on taking your date out in this either, there's no passenger seat. Holding it to the road is a set of 19" Wheels wrapped in Hoosier Racing Tires. Good thing too because the Turbo 2.0 liter Ecotec lays down close to 300 horsepower.

1950 "Mercules"

All the way from Australia comes a custom 1950 Mercury. This blue beauty has seen over 175 body modifications to get where it is today, one of which chopped off 4 inches of headroom. Adding to the already outstanding combination is a 6.8 liter supercharged V10. That potent power-plant drives the 1950 Merc to the front of the line when it comes to custom hot rods.

Blastolene B-702

This picture is worth more than 1000 words. This amazing work of art was designed by the Blastolene Brothers ( Michael Leeds and Randy Grubb), the same masterminds behind Jay Leno's "Tank Car" It sits at 19.5 feet long and 94 inches wide. One look at the size of the hood and the number of tubes on the headers should give you a slight hint to the 702ci V12 that's hiding underneath. Everything sits on a custom made frame. Toss in the leather interior and custom made trimmings and you have the hottest car on the road.

Custom Car 1. 1963 Corvette

It's hard to believe that under all that under all the graphics and performance parts this used to be classic small block Chevy. The heart of this mighty machine is a 400 cubic inch twin turbo V8. When fully spooled, it makes...2200 horsepower. (Let that sink in for a few seconds). The Engine bay had to be extended and hood modified to house the new power-plant. According to Rod Saboury, the owner, it's the fastest street-legal car in the world. And it still has factory roll-up headlights
