When it is confirmed to Deputy Director of Marketing PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia (MBI) Yuniadi Hartono, he had a different answer.
"Maybe a car cheap, but cheap for the size of a Mercedes car that had been there," he said when met at the Hotel Kempinski, Jakarta, Tuesday (05/10/2010).
He claimed, for the price range of Rp300 million to Rp500 million Mercedes-Benz cars are planned to be equipped with engines below 2,000 cc will be the most premium car in its segment.
"Because if we look down the 2,000 cc class definitely worth Rp100 million range, while above 2,000 cc is 300 million. So arguably we will remain a premium," said Yuniadi.
He also argued, a number of German brand loyal consumers sometimes need a compact car for their daily needs but want to still look luxurious.
"Like the bike, there are others Rp1 million to Rp40 million, whereas the same needs. So did this car, our customers may need a small car for daily use and unfortunately if we are using the C-Class, E-Class or S-Class, but still want a car with luxury, comfort, and safety is high, "he said.
What is clear, the car is scheduled to appear at the world premiere in 2012 it will be assembled at the MBI factory in Indonesia and are made available to the market in Indonesia.
"This is really a new model of the platform which is also new, the shape can be A-Class, B-Class or Mini SUV," he said.
