Hyundai has finally opened up its gates and provided new images of its all new 2011 Sonata. The latest images which surfaced on Hyundai’s official blog gives us the most comprehensive look at the Sonata a couple of day before it is official unveiled.
The new Sonata was designed at Hyundai’s design studios in Irvine California. And it was said that there was a lot of heated debates as to the direction and style of the new Sonata. From viewing the latest images, I agree that they have made the right decision.
The leaked images show us that the new Sonata has taken a more conservation look. But conservative does not always means bland, the Sonata actually comes off as fresh and highly stylized for a mid size sedan.
Details on the car is very scarce but Hyundai is planning to put out a hybrid version of the car and the different engines available will be modified across the board with a direct-injection 2.4-liter four-cylinder anchoring the low-end of the spectrum, while a 3.5-liter V6 will target upper-level competitors. It was also rumored the Hyundai will come up with another hybrid version of the Sonata that will run on Lithium Polymer batteries.
The Sonata will start production this coming summer 2010
